About Brad North, Site Director
Brad graduated from Lon Morris College in Jacksonville, TX in 1985 with an Associate’s degree in computer programming. He went on to graduate from Stephen F. Austin State University in 1987 with a bachelor’s degree in Business with an emphasis in marketing. Brad began in camping in 1989 as the co-maintenance director at Sacramento Methodist Assembly in Sacramento, NM. He served there for 2 years and then returned to retail management with his move to Louisville, KY.
In 1997 he re-ignited his career in Camp and retreat center management when he became the Executive Director of Kavanaugh Life Enrichment Center in Crestwood, KY. During his five years of service there he was part of the inaugural class that began the certification program for camp and retreat center management established by the General Board of Discipleship, The General Board of Higher Education, and Drew University.
In 2002 Brad then accepted the position as Director of Little Grassy United Methodist Camp near Carbondale, IL. where he served for the next 2 ½ years and completed the certification program. Brad has been serving as the director at Camp Galilee since December of 2006 and has the desire to use his certification towards completing his Masters of Divinity in Camp and Retreat Management.
